"The arts are powerful tools for healing and empowering people.
Tools our society has
forgotten.
For years Starr’s career
utilized her artistic and organizational skills, while personal passion led her
to address issues she saw consistently neglected in our culture. She volunteered
her time as a peer counselor-mentor, and her talent as an artist for murals,
theatre, and community events. She has facilitated support groups for women, and
lead senior citizens, youth, and adults in activities ranging from creative writing to video
production focusing on personal growth and active citizenship. From her
experience of the arts as a healing tool coupled with a desire to develop
creative collaborations between artists and communities,
Daydreamz
project was borne.
She now resides in Denver, CO, where Daydreamz national headquarters is located.
A graduate of the Laban Institute of Movement Studies in New York and
Seattle, Pamela is a noted teacher, dancer, breath practitioner and
choreographer. She has been working in the field of movement for over 30 years
as a performing artist, teacher, & healer. Her work in communities in
Australia, California and West Africa has often created positive changes in
dynamics among groups, expanded opportunities for underprivileged factions,
& afforded forums for addressing common issues thru creative expression.
Pamela is also a co-founding member of the Daydreamz project, and now resides in
Denver, CO.
