Philosophy: We champion the "voice" of those not heard, thru arts workshops, exhibitions, and events... Daydreamz works to provide underserved populations with unique opportunities to empower themselves through their own creative voice, and thereby create alternate directions for the future-- their own and the community’s.
We believe that creativity is a 'birthright' of ALL individuals, and a valuable resource for addressing life's challenges.

Signing Choir - that SIGNS songs in ASL rather than sing them... now learning a holiday song for Dec. 19, 2009 ARC Holiday Show. Come learn this beautiful language with others, or share your experience in American Sign Language (ASL). Click here to Download Flyer
Summertime Kids - a grant from the Community Foundation of WNC, supported a much needed Kidz Express program for Youth with Special Needs during summer 2009. Click here to view photos
Summertime Kids Gardening - offered youth the chance to become GREEN-minded and assist with the Community Garden started by area senior citizens. Click here to view photos
Community Garden - started this spring to help local seniors that could no longer manage a garden alone. This RE-USE initiative repurposes & reconditions old dumpsters, as raised bed containers, allowing seniors to garden without being on the ground or stooping. Click here to view photos
"Ripples of Hope" - Once again survivors and supporters created healing art pieces expressing feelings about sexual assault and abuse. The exhibit debuted at the "Take a Walk in Her Shoes" event in Waynesville, NC then displayed at galleries in Haywood County, NC throughout April, for Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

Statement:

Who we are:
Daydreamz is an Artistic Collective founded by a small group of artists who saw needs in their communities’ and felt obliged to use their talents and gifts to address them. Since its conception in 1994 our membership has grown and our projects have spanned both coasts of the US. We retuned to Western NC the end of 2008, and still have active members and projects in Colorado, Arizona, Texas, New York, and Chile.
