opportunities to empower themselves through their own creative voice, and thereby create alternate directions for the future-- their own and the community’s.We believe that Community-Art creates a bridge across differences and opportunities, allowing creative expression to enrich participants and community members alike.

"Ripples of Hope" - Grew to 13 locations this year, exhibiting survivor and supporters healing art pieces about sexual assault and abuse, throughout Haywood County during April, for Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
Daydreamz turns 10 years old! Yes this summer marks ten years since Daydreamz artists began their Community-Arts projects together. Look forward to details on our Celebration before the year ends!
2009 Happenings:
A Summertime Kids grant from the Community Foundation of WNC, supported a much needed program for Youth with Special Needs last summer (see photos); and offered community youth the chance to Go GREEN (see photos).
Our Community Garden began as a re-use initiative, re-purposing old dumpsters as raised bed containers, which allowed senior citizens to garden without being on the ground or stooping, thanks in part to a Healthy Haywood grant. see photos
We joined with International Fiber Collaborative artists from around the world, for The Tree Project focused on Interdependence. It debuted in a Huntsville, AL park, and now decorates the lobby of their Children's Museum.(see photos )
Survivors and supporters created healing art pieces expressing feelings about sexual assault and abuse. The "Ripples of Hope" exhibit debuted in 7 galleries in Haywood County, NC throughout April, for Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

The 5th annual "break the silence-stop the violence" event was May 8, 2008. It was an evening of performers, survivors, and supporters sharing healing and HOPE for change.

Who we are:
Daydreamz is an Artistic Collective founded by a small group of artists who saw needs in their communities’ and felt obliged to use their talents and gifts to address them. Since its conception in 1994 our membership has grown and our projects have spanned both coasts of the US. We retuned to Western NC the end of 2008, and still have active members and projects in Colorado, Arizona, Texas, New York, and Chile.
